google-pokemon-challengeWhen April 1st hit the world a couple of months back, there were different companies that came up with some really funny April Fool’s pranks. Google was one of them, where they introduced a new way to catch Pokémon all across Google Maps. There were apparently 150 of those who are scattered worldwide, so as usual, you are tasked with catching them all! Those who completed the Pokédex successfully would have received a message from Google Maps, where they would then need to fill out a form for a “surprise.”

We are glad to report that Google is pretty much as good as their word, where several players who took up Google on their challenge were rewarded with a congratulatory letter from Google Maps, in addition to 10 business cards with the title “Pokémon Master” proudly emblazoned across.

The letter would read as follows :-

Greetings, Pokémon Master

On behalf of the entire Google Maps team, we’d like to celebrate you for catching ‘em all. Not 10, not 50, but all the Pokémon hidden throughout our maps. While we don’t currently have a Pokémon Master role, we hope you enjoyed our April Fools’ Day prank. Wynaut have a little fun once a year?

We’d like to say thanks with these cards – reserved for Trainers who completed the Google Maps Pokémon Challenge and let us know of their success.

Congratulations and thanks again for playing!

Keep Exploring,
Tatsuo on behalf of the Google Maps Team

Don’t you think that this is just too cute?
