Google has been very quiet on the tablet front after launching a refreshed version of the Nexus 7 last year. There were countless rumors about a new Nexus 10 but it never materialized. Then we starting hearing about the possibility of an 8-inch tablet which is better known as the Nexus 8. Rumors about this tablet are still coming in and today a purported image and details of the so-called Nexus 8 have leaked online.

It is imperative to keep in mind that this information comes from an unofficial and unverified source. Thus there is a possibility that none of it might be true. Google has dropped no hints about a Nexus 8 and its keeping mum on the subject for now.

Nexus 8 is reportedly going to be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. If that’s true it may be the Snapdragon 410 which is expected to start sampling by the end of June. Its also possible that the processor might be a Snapdragon 610 or 615 but their sampling isn’t expected to begin until the third quarter of 2014.

The popular assumption is that Google will unveil Nexus 8 at I/O 2014 which takes place on June 25th. The tablet is believed to come with Android 4.5 pre-installed, the iteration that Google might announce at I/O 2014.

Purported image of the tablet seen here are also from the same source, which claims that the actual tablet is hidden inside a protective casing so as to hide the design.
