sniper-elite-3-main

If you’ve been waiting for Rebellion’s new first person shooter you should read on. The title is out this week and if you happen to get your hands on the retail version of Sniper Elite 3 for Xbox One, do keep in mind that a bit of patience will be required for you before you can get down to playing. There’s a Sniper Elite 3 day one patch for Xbox One which weighs in at a massive 10GB. Its a mandatory download.

The game itself has a mandatory install south of 20GB with almost 14GB being replaced by the day one patch. Rebellion tells Eurogamer that the patch will bring multiple improvements for Sniper Elite 3, and it will also bring down the game’s total install size from 21GB to 19GB.

According to Rebellion the main part of this update is to enable synchronization of data between Sniper Elite 3’s retail discs and its Xbox Live digital download edition. Instead of resting after sending code to manufacture and release the team kept working on the game to make improvements and optimizations.

It also confirmed that work on a multiplayer DLC has started and a small part of this update brings a compatibility pack. This is just to make sure that all players have the same multiplayer experience even if they don’t own the DLC.

Rebellion confirmed that while day one patches will also be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, they won’t nearly be as large as the one for Microsoft’s new console.
