sony teaserBack in 2013, Sony attempted to blur the line between smartphones and tablets with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. It was a commendable effort on Sony’s part, although we have to wonder if a 6.44-inch display might be too big. However it looks like Sony could be back again with the Xperia Z Ultra’s successor, at least according to a recent teaser image posted by Sony.

As you can see in the image above, it shows off a Sony handset placed next to a model, with the focus being on the phone, while the model’s silhouette is blurred in the background. The phone shows that it is just as big, if not bigger than the model, with the tweet reading, “Shh… do you want to know a secret? Stay tuned for the next big thing this season.”

Now we’re not sure what the “secret” portion of the tweet could mean, but if the “next big thing” certainly does sound like a possible teaser for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra’s successor. Now there are other possibilities, like a Sony Xperia Z3, which some have speculated. However given that the Xperia Z2 was unveiled less than half a year ago, we doubt that will be the case.

However there have been rumors about the Xperia Z3, there is always that possibility, as slim as it might be. In any case we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information, but in the meantime what do you guys think Sony’s teaser could be about? An Xperia Z Ultra successor, or the Xperia Z3?
