THL-5000Mirror, mirror, on the wall, which smartphone has the largest battery of them all? Modern day smartphones come in ever increasing sizes, so much so that they begin to flirt with tablet territory, giving birth to a new term “phablet” along the way. Well, with a larger form factor and more generous screen would mean the need for a longer battery life, and the THL 5000 is pretty difficult to beat considering how it packs a massive 5,000mAh battery underneath the hood.

At 5,000mAh, some might even say that this compact battery (which has to be inserted into a body which measures all of just 8.9mm thin) is capable of powering an entry level tablet, and they are correct. Of course, with such a massive capacity battery, how does the THL 5000 measure up as a smartphone?

It ain’t too shabby either when flirting with other high end models, considering how it sports a 5” IPS display at 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, accompanied by Gorilla Glass 3 on top for that added bit of protection. There is also a true octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 chipset, a quad-core Mali 450 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded via a microSD memory card slot. At the back lies a 13-megapixel Sony Exmor RS sensor (IMX135) with super-wide, f/1.8 lens, while selfie lovers ought to have a field day with a 5MP shooter in front.
