moto g2When the Moto E was only a rumor, there were some who thought that the device might have been a successor for the Moto G, although based on its specs that’s hardly the case. However can we expect a successor to the Moto G? After all the handset has proven to be quite a hit, thanks to a good combination of decent specs and a very affordable price tag.

Well according to a report from Spanish website, Mellando no Android, it seems that they claim to have gotten their hands on a photo of what they are alleging is the Moto G’s successor. Based on what we can see and assuming the photo is the real deal, it seems that the Moto G’s successor could be sharing some design ideas with the Moto E, such as its front-facing speakers and earpiece.

As far as its specs are confirmed, Mellando no Android claims that the Moto G’s successor will not differ too greatly from the original, save for an updated camera which is supposedly better. This means that we can look forward to a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, a 720p HD display, and a new 8MP rear-facing camera and support for dual SIM.

In any case there’s no way of telling if this is the real deal, but do take it with a grain of salt for now and hopefully we will hear from Motorola soon, especially since the Moto X is said to be getting a successor of its own in the form of the Moto X+1, so do check back with us at a later date for the details.
