bbc-iplayerEarlier in May, the BBC did roll out a major update to its iPlayer app so that it will now cater for the Windows Phone platform, allowing it to enjoy a new look and improved performance. Of course, there is also something else to look forward to – this marks the first time that support for live television is also thrown into the mix, hence enabling British viewers to check out BBC’s range of UK TV channels even when they are not stuck in the comfort of their own living room. Unfortunately, not everything was a bed of roses, since support for radio content was taken out from the app totally.

Good thing we humans are able to make even the darkest moments seem bright thanks to this thing called “hope”, as the BBC did promise that they are currently developing an app that will see the reinstatement of its radio services so that the Windows Phone platform will be able to enjoy such a service yet again. Hence, we are glad to bring word that the BBC iPlayer Radio is now available for download on the Windows Phone Store.

With the BBC iPlayer Radio app, Windows Phone users will be able to enjoy the BBC’s UK radio stations live, in addition to World Service. Do expect the user interface to be not too different from that found on the main iPlayer app.
