gionee-thinnestWhen it comes to the world’s thinnest smartphone, you can be sure that this is one particular mantle that the likes of Samsung and Apple do not duke it out for. After all, they prefer to pack their respective devices with plenty of features, and surely that comes with a sacrifice – the size. Gionee, however, thinks differently, having already released the Elife S5.5 earlier this year to be the thinnest smartphone in the world. Having said that, the Gionee GN9005 intends to continue from there, measuring just 5mm thin, and is clearly making it on track to be the new thinnest smartphone in the world.

We have already share details on the Gionee GN9005’s hardware specifications more than a week ago, but here is a refresher. It will apparently arrive with a 4.8″ 720p AMOLED display at a pixel density of 306 ppi, having been certified by China’s TENAA authority, sports a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, has 1GB RAM, an 8MP camera at the back with a 5MP shooter in front, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice and a 2,050mAh battery.

What you see above, however, is no photo from TENAA’s database, but rather, the real deal in the flesh, and thankfully there is no blurry cam moment this time around. Do you like what you see so far?
