iphone 6 mock2

Its no secret that Apple’s new iPhones are just a few months away. Traditionally the company releases new hardware in the fall and that’s what it is expected to do this time around as well. Two iPhone 6 models are believed to be on the cards for 2014 and both are expected to bring significantly larger displays that have never before been used in the iPhone. While there’s no official word about the iPhone 6 announcement event a report claims that the company has “tentatively” planned the event for mid-September.

Folks at 9to5Mac claim, citing sources briefed on the company’s plans, that Apple is planning a keynote address for mid-September. Second and third weeks of the month are said to be the most likely weeks for the event. Plans are said to be in flux and sources say that a date has not been finalized as yet.

There’s always the possibility that issues with manufacturing can push Apple to alter the launch event timeframe. We have already seen many rumors about several manufacturing issues that Apple’s partners are facing with the next generation iPhones, but it remains to be seen if those issues will play any part in pushing the launch back.

The timeline does make sense since September fits in nicely with Apple’s traditional release cycles for the new iPhone. How long will the company actually take from the announcement to get the units in stores and in customers’ hands is anyone’s guess at this moment in time.
