lenovo-c1It does look as though competition among different companies in the wearable tech market is starting to heat up, and we did bring you word about Lenovo’s prototype smart glasses not too long ago. Well, it seems that this particular model will be known as the Lenovo C1, and as mentioned earlier, it will feature a battery that is worn around the neck – something which is definitely out of the ordinary that some folks might think it to be weird or strange.

Having announced the Lenovo C1 smart glasses on the NBD platform, which is a China-only initiative at this point in time, although Lenovo does possess the ability and scale to expand such a program around the world – especially when products that are appealing enough to be sold to a global consumer base. NBD does however, possess the logistical framework at the moment courtesy of Lenovo’s established PC business. After all, the entire point of establishing the NBD platform is to address a broader market in a more efficient manner, since building the hardware independently and keeping one’s fingers crossed for it to sell is a potentially fatal mistake.

As to how the Lenovo C1 will be able to do in the market when compared to the likes of Google Glass, that remains to be seen. After all, the Lenovo C1 lacks the kind of clout and “wow factor” that Glass carries with it, which could prove vital in making or breaking a particular product.
