lumia-930-purple-tint

One of the new Windows Phone devices on the market has a problem that has been faced by a lot of people. Those who have picked up a unit are irked by the Lumia 930 purple tint problem. The screen on their device shows a purple tint  for no apparent reason. Fortunately though it doesn’t seem to be a hardware issue as there’s a fix making the rounds that completely solves the purple tint issue on Lumia 930.

Even though the fix is doing what its supposed to do Microsoft isn’t resting easy. The company has taken note of Lumia 930 purple tint issues and has recalled some test samples from the Norwegian market. These samples will be investigated at the company’s R/D site in Finland.

As for the fix, one doesn’t need to look beyond the built-in calibration tools to get rid of the purple tint. If you have a Lumia 930 facing this problem simply launch the Settings application and head to Display followed by Adjust Color. Set Tint option to green from neutral. This should fix the issue.

It appears to do the trick as there haven’t been any reports of the purple tints returning once the fix has been applied. Lumia 930 is one of the two new WP devices that come with Windows Phone 8.1 straight out the box. Its actually quite similar to the Verizon exclusive Lumia Icon.
