maingear-pulse15When it comes to gaming notebooks, most of the time we are used to the idea that such devices will need to be bulky in nature, simply because of the high end parts that such machines pack underneath the hood. Well, the Maingear Pulse 15 does offer a decent gaming performance while you are on the road, although it does not bog you down since it continues to maintain a thin and light form factor.

For instance, the Maingear Pulse 15 does come with a high-resolution 15.6” display at 2880 x 1620 pixels, alongside an Intel Core i7-4710HQ Haswell processor, accompanied by 16GB RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M graphics, a 1TB hard drive and a 128GB solid state drive for internal storage purposes, 2.1 channel speakers, and a 5,400mAh battery, but despite all of those, the Maingear Pulse 15 continues to measure a mere 0.75” in thickness as well as tipping the scales at approximately 4 pounds. Good things do not come cheap though, and the Maingear Pulse 15 will start from $2,199 onward, so you have a better idea on how much to budget for it.

It manages to retain its slim form factor thanks to the presence of an external DVD burner, which is not so relevant in this day and age since we tend to download our apps more than install them from a physical disc.
