microsoft__logoWe have been hearing the rumors that Microsoft could be getting ready to launch their next version of Windows, possibly in 2015. The next version is expected to be called Windows 9, but it has also gone by the name Threshold. That being said, if you were wondering how true the rumors were, well you can rest assured that some of it is.

This is according to Microsoft’s CEO himself, Satya Nadella, who revealed during the company’s FY14 Q4 earnings call that the company will be talking more about the future of Windows, and the enhancements that will be coming in the next version. Nadella expects that they will be talking about it in the coming months, although no specific dates have been mentioned.

He does not explicitly mention Windows 9 or Threshold, but given that Windows 9 is expected to be the next major upgrade to the Windows operating system, many are speculating that it could be what he is alluding to. There have been rumors that a preview of Windows 9/Threshold could be taking place in the fall of 2014, so there is a chance that we could be hearing about it soon.

Alternatively the “coming months” could very well take us to next year, but either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, so do check back with us at a later date for the details!
