Unfortunately while devices like the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are available for order, Google did not mention when exactly we could look forward to the Moto 360. They did provide us with a rather broad and vague timeframe of summer, but apart from that, not much else is known, such as its exact specifications and more importantly, its pricing (although some retailers have taken a stab at it).

That being said, a video has surfaced recently on YouTube that basically talks us through the Moto 360’s design, and why Motorola made the choices they did when designing the watch. The Moto 360’s Product Lead, Lior Ron, touches on topics such as why Motorola decided to go with a round watch face as opposed to a more square-ish or rectangular design favored by the majority of smartwatches out there.

Unfortunately Ron does not mention when the watch will be released, but presumably with nothing holding the watch’s release or production back, summer 2014 is still a timeframe we can look forward to. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding the Moto 360’s pricing and availability, so do check back with us at a later date for the details.

In the meantime if you have a minute to spare, you can check out the video above to understand Motorola’s design process for the smartwatch.
