Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Potter fans rejoice! Today you get a glimpse into Harry’s life ever since the book series ended some seven years ago. While the author J.K. Rowling has said multiple times that she is done with this series and that fans shouldn’t expect any new books about Harry Potter and the gang, she has posted a short story online from the perspective of Rita Skeeter, a gossip columnist that features in the series. The short story offers some details about Harry Potter at age 34 as well as the wizarding world in general.

This short story is actually part of a series about similar stories that Rowling has been writing about the Quidditch World Cup, its a fictional sport straight out of the books, and these stories have been timed with the actual 2014 FIFA World Cup.

There’s not much that fans can get out of this short story. Skeeter is a gossip columnist after all and Rowling stays true to that spirit, though she’s kind enough to offer some details on Harry, Ron and Hermione, the three main characters, which most fans will no doubt appreciate since it has been quite a while since we were told what they’ve been up to!

The story has been posted online at Pottermore, you will need to make an account and be logged in to read it. It may be difficult to access the site right now as its crawling under the immense traffic but many copies have already been posted on the internet, so it won’t be too hard to read it.
