nokia-by-microsoft-lumia-830Yesterday an alleged rendering of the Nokia Lumia 830 was leaked, and one of the interesting aspects of the rendering was the branding at the back of the phone which read, “Nokia by Microsoft”. It made sense, especially since Microsoft had officially acquired Nokia, and we expect that Microsoft would eventually want to phase out the Nokia brand in favor of their own.

However according to a recent tweet by Tom Warren, senior editor at The Verge, it turns out that the rendering was a fake, along with the “Nokia by Microsoft” branding. What does this mean? Well we expect that the Nokia branding could still be present on the Lumia 830, but as it stands, both are still rumors since nothing official has been revealed.

The Nokia Lumia 830 has yet to be announced by either Nokia or Microsoft, but it is expected to be the successor to the Nokia Lumia 820 that was announced a couple of years ago. It is also expected to sport an aluminum frame with a polycarbonate back, although given that the recent rumors have proven to be fake, we’re not sure how accurate those claims are either.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information regarding the Lumia 830, so do check back with us at a later date for additional details!
