Nova-Beta-Android-LAre you looking forward to Android L? We’re sure many Android users are because not only is Android L offering up major visual changes, but it will also offer up improvements to Android devices, such as by improving battery life. However the release of Android L is not expected until the later part of the year, but the good news is that if you wanted to get your hands on it, you can in the form of a lookalike.

Unless you have access to the Developer Preview version of Android L, chances are you’ll have to wait until fall before you can get your hands on the update, assuming your OEM/carrier pushes it out in a timely manner. However in the meantime, Nova Launcher has received a beta update recently which gives the launcher a visual makeover that will hopefully look close enough to the real thing.

The launcher will come with several Android L features such as folder preview and the new app drawer icon. There will also be some Android L animation, along with various optimizations and bug fixes. The Nova Launcher itself is a pretty popular launcher but if you have steered clear of it because you preferred something else, perhaps the new Android L makeover might be enough to tempt you.

For those interested, you will have to opt in for the beta program by heading on over to Nova Launcher’s Google+ page. Alternatively you can download the APK directly here, although we should warn you about non-Google Play downloads, so proceed with caution!
