Sony-D6653-AnTuTu-BenchmarkThe Sony D6653, which has been speculated by certain quarters to be the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3, has apparently paid the AnTuTu benchmark a visit, and it managed to score a rather impressive 37,169 figure as you can see on the right. Why is the Sony D6653 designated by some to be the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3? Well, some folks figured out that since Sony themselves will commit to a new flagship handset every half a year, this might very well go hand-in-hand with whispers of an Xperia Z3.

After all, the Sony Xperia Z2 was introduced to the masses at MWC 2014 earlier this February, so this coming August ought to see the next half year cycle arrive, and considering how alleged front panels of the Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact have leaked at the end of June, not to mention the “About” screen for the rumored Xperia Z3 hitting the Internet not too long ago, it would not be too far off the mark to associate the Sony D6653 with the Xperia Z3, right?

The Sony D6653 will apparently run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat right out of the box, where it will be accompanied by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC processor to boot. All in all, we do look forward to the official launch of the Sony Xperia Z3 where all rumors can finally be put to bed. No doubt it will follow in the waterproof goodness of its predecessors, too.
