If you happen to have a Sony Xperia L and have been waiting for some official update love fear not because there is another way to get your device on latest software. Sony Xperia L was released in 2013 and has performed well as a budget device internationally. Those who want a new software experience on this smartphone can now look towards CyanogenMod. The official nightly builds of CyanogenMod for Xperia L have now been released.

For those who don’t know CyanogenMod happens to be one of the most widely used custom Android ROMs out there. Millions of Android devices around the world are powered by this software which aims to provide a near vanilla Android experience with a few extra features that you won’t find on the stock OS. Moreover it doesn’t come with any bloatware which many users appreciate.

Given the fact that Xperia L has only received nightly builds for now it would be best if you expect to encounter a few bugs here and there. It shouldn’t take too long though before a stable build is released. Until then, keep an open mind.

Once you download the CyanogenMod nightly build for this device, make sure that you have backed up all data before proceeding with the installation process. If you haven’t done this before it wouldn’t be unwise to read up on flashing custom ROMs before proceeding.
