LG G Watch is one of the two Android Wear smartwatches that have hit the market. Folks who are curious about Google’s new platform for wearable devices would have certainly either picked it up or opted for the Samsung Gear Live. The developer community is already quite interested in the platform and we have seen some great apps come up for the smartwatches. Custom ROMs are the next step and developers are working on them. Those who want to flash a custom ROM on their device would need to unlock the bootloader first, and this custom toolkit makes it much easier to unlock LG G Watch bootloader.

Simply called the LG G Watch Tool, this toolkit has been developed by a recognized developer of the XDA community. It is compatible with PCs running Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. It comes in at around 135MB and brings a handful of features.

First and foremost it allows you to easily unlocked LG G Watch bootloader. It also brings the ability to relock the bootloader should that urge ever possess you. Other features include restoring the device if it gets bricked, rooting it, flashing stock boot image and flashing the stock recovery. The Tool can also be used to install and test the necessary drivers for the LG G Watch.

It may only be a matter of time before someone makes a similar tool for the Samsung Gear Live, but for now this is available only for LG’s smartwatch.
