xiaomi-mi4-steelsimXiaomi, the fast rising smartphone manufacturer from China, announced the Xiaomi Mi4 earlier this week, touting that the Xiaomi Mi4 is tough as nails since it is made from premium steel for its chassis as well as frame. Apart from the two mentioned, it also looks as though the Xiaomi Mi4 is set to be a “superphone” – as it also sports a steel SIM tray, now how about that? Most of the other smartphones in the market that do have a SIM tray tend to use plastic, and if you are not too careful with it, it is going to snap into two just like that.

Steel does add an air of elegance as well as a premium feel to it, and as you can see from the image above, the SIM tray is made out of steel while following a similar color scheme as that of the smartphone itself, which happens to be blue in color at this point in time. This does point to Xiaomi taking their products seriously, especially when it comes to challenging the high end and premier smartphone market.

Do you think you would make your purchase decision based on a steel SIM tray alone? Most likely not, but knowing that it is there alone does give you more confidence in picking up the handset, does it not?
