n56It looks as though the alleged September release date for the iPhone 6 draws ever closer, so too, are more and more rumors beginning to roll out at even greater frequencies. In fact, the latest rumor involves an alleged render of the iPhone 6 that comes with the codename “N56”, where it sports a camera lens which will extend outward from the device’s rear cover, which is not too far removed from that of the 5th generation iPod touch.

Of course, the leaked render of the image is rather sketchy to begin with, although the design itself does seem to jive with some of the other recently leaked images of the purported iPhone 6 chassis. From what we know, it looks like the camera lens protrudes some 0.67mm.

There is also every possibility that this could very well be a red herring, since it could point to a sixth generation iPod touch – now that would be a bummer for many, off course. Who knows? Until an official release or announcement is made, one ought to take all of these reports with nothing else but a pinch of salt. Just how much of a difference does 0.1mm make anyway for a device of the iPhone’s stature? A whole lot apparently, to serious fans of the device.
