assassin's creed unityAccording to a report from yesterday, it was suggested that Assassin’s Creed Rogue would only feature a single player mode. This means that there will not be any competitive multiplayer or co-op multiplayer, unlike Assassin’s Creed Unity which will have a four player co-op mode as previously announced.

However according to a recent statement made by a Ubisoft spokesperson to the folks at IGN, it seemed to hint that there is a chance that multiplayer could arrive in the future. According to the spokesperson, they confirmed the single player mode, but did mention that it was only “at this stage”, hinting that perhaps multiplayer could come in the future via a patch or DLC.

Of course this is merely speculation for now, but if you were hoping that there would be multiplayer, you can rest assured knowing that the door might not be completely closed. For those who are hearing about this for the first time, Assassin’s Creed Rogue is an upcoming Assassin’s Creed title from Ubisoft.

Unlike Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be made from current-gen consoles like the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. The title was actually rumored about earlier this year where it went by the title “Comet”. The game is also supposed to pick up where Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag left off and should be released on the 11th of November.
