hearthstoneHearthstone is Blizzard’s latest game and it borrows characters and some lore from their Warcraft franchise. For those unfamiliar, it is a card-based game where gamers can build decks and face off against other gamers, just like Magic: The Gathering and the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.

Now Hearthstone is available on a bunch of different platforms, like the iPad and desktop, but the good news is that if you’re a Windows 8 tablet user, you might be pleased to learn that in the latest Hearthstone update, Blizzard has announced that they will be adding support for Windows 8 touch devices.

While Hearthstone was always able to run on Windows 8 computers, it would require users to use a mouse/keyboard to interact with the game. However with the update, if you own a device like say the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, you will be able to enjoy the game in tablet form no problem. Prior to the update, the game did work on Windows 8 touch devices, although gathering from the comments, it was hardly ideal or optimized, so hopefully this should fix that.

Unfortunately many gamers are still asking when support for Android tablets will be arriving. Blizzard has yet to give gamers a specific timeline for that, or if it will even be happening anytime soon, but in the meantime we guess Windows 8 tablet owners will be pleased with this update.
