lgg3aAs it stands, the LG G3 is probably the only mainstream Android smartphone in the market at the moment that packs a QHD display. Presumably Samsung will enter into the fray with the Galaxy Note 4, but in the meantime LG has the lead. Oddly enough it seems that LG has decided that they LG G3 could do with a downgrade and has recently announced the LG G3 A in South Korea.

On the surface, the LG G3 A appears to be similar to the LG G3, but in terms of size, the LG G3 A is a tad smaller. Its display measures 5.2-inches versus the LG G3’s 5.5-inch display. It will also pack a Full HD 1080p display which is lower than the LG G3’s QHD display. It will also sport a slightly older processor in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.

Other than that, the rest of the phone appears to be more or less the same. This means users can look forward to Android 4.4 KitKat and will also come with LG’s software features like KnockOn, Knock Code, LG’s smart keyboard, and LG’s very own Android UI overlaying the operating system.

The LG G3 A will also keep the LG G3’s 13MP rear-facing camera with laser autofocus and a metallic-designed back plate. Oddly enough despite the fact that it isn’t as powerful as the LG G3, it is still priced pretty expensive at around $670. Then again we guess these specs are still pretty powerful but unfortunately it seems to be a South Korean exclusive for now.
