lg-g3-phone-002With the release of the LG G3 earlier this year, LG definitely made waves in the Android market as the handset came with an impressive QHD display, something that other OEMs have yet to catch on. Granted other players such as Vivo and Oppo have beaten LG to the punch, but LG could be considered a more mainstream brand, thus making it a bigger deal.

That being said could the LG G3 be LG’s best selling smartphone to date? Well apparently the South Korean company thinks so. According to a report from The Korea Times, LG issued a statement where they basically expressed confidence in the LG G3 and that they believe it will exceed the 10 million sales mark.

Assuming that LG manages to achieve that, it could be the first smartphone from LG that does so. Typically LG plays a second fiddle to their South Korean rival, Samsung, but with the LG G3, it’s starting to look like LG has what it takes to make some noise and generate a ton of sales.

So far LG has managed to ship 14.5 million smartphones in the second quarter of 2014, with the LG G3 probably contributing a fair amount to that. However as we know, shipment numbers does not equal to sales, so for LG to hit the 10 million sales mark with the LG G3 is definitely impressive, but what say you? Are you surprised, or did you expect that the LG G3 would prove to be a hit?
