meizu-new-osIt has been close to six months ever since there was any word concerning a collaboration between Canonical and Meizu, with the former being the developer of Ubuntu. It was mentioned earlier this year that Meizu would be one of the first few hardware manufacturers that will utilize the new operating system on its upcoming smartphones, with even a Meizu MX3 having been spotted to run on Ubuntu as well. Since then, nothing official has been released, but it does seem as though all of it are going to change in the near future, with Meizu teasing us about a “stunning new OS” on their Facebook page.

There is nothing else revealed in the teaser image as you can see above, since the shade of green does not show off any other kinds of information that would make the world go ga-ga with additional stories. Perhaps Meizu could be referring to another iteration of their Android-based Flyme OS, who knows?

Still, we would like to lean more in the direction of the teaser touching on a possible Ubuntu-powered device, or devices, that is/are being prepared for the near future. What do you think? Perhaps the Meizu MX4 that is tipped to roll out later next month might provide a more concrete clue, depending on the number of variants that arrive.
