facebook-unfollowWe have heard the stories where a careless post on Facebook or Twitter have landed a person in trouble, and we guess to a certain extent it is to be expected since it’s public and anyone can see what you have written. However oddly enough it seems that one mother’s Facebook status update has resulted in her son being expelled from his preschool.

According to the reports, Ashley Habat had recently posted on her Facebook about how her son’s school did not give enough notice about picture day. While Habat claims her post was private, it seems that she tagged the school in her post, although we can’t be sure if this was on purpose or by accident.

Following the post, she was told the next day by school administrators that the school would not be a good fit for her son. It seems that the school was not pleased by Habat’s use of social media to air her grievances regarding the school. They claimed that Habat “utilized social media to call into question not only the integrity but the intelligence of our staff. … These actions are also consistent with sowing discord, which is spoken of in the handbook you signed.”

Some believe that Habat is to blame since she did tag the school in her post, although some think that it is unfair that her son had to be the one to suffer the consequence of Habat’s post. According to a post by Lisa Fogarty on TheStir, “I feel awful for her little boy — it’s terrible to rip him away from his friends and teacher because of a dumb thing his mother wrote on Facebook.” What do you guys think?
