neptune-pine-shipsThe Neptune Pine smartwatch was first revealed in early 2013, before it launched as a Kickstarter campaign earlier this year, hoping to raise enough dough in time to make it a reality. Well, we are pleased to say that the Neptune Pine smartwatch has started to ship to those who have backed the Kickstarter campaign earlier on.

Missing the original shipping date of January, it is better to release a product that simply works well without having to deliver a gimped product. This is the step that Neptune Pine has taken, and for those who preferred to adopt a wait and see attitude, you too, are able to pick up the Neptune Pine smartwatch although it will cost you $349 for a pre-order.

As for the hardware that the Neptune Pine will pack, it will feature a 2.4” touchscreen display at 320 x 240 pixels, powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, accompanied by 512MB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS support, as well as cameras – in front and at the back. The Neptune Pine will be different from other smartwatches as it can double up as a regular smartphone, supporting 2G and 3G networks while running on Android. In a nutshell, you can make and receive calls with this, and even send text messages without batting an eyelid. Needless to say, you can pair this bad boy up with an Android device too, so that you can receive and respond to notifications via your wrist without having to touch your handset.
