ipad-air-2-rear-shell

Even though Apple fans might be waiting for the next generation iPhones, they would certainly be interested in any news about the company’s next tablets. If the rumors are correct Apple will be unveiling its new tablets come October. We have already seen numerous parts and component leaks which are said to belong to the iPad Air 2. Today another such part has appeared online, it is claimed to be the rear shell of this tablet.

On the face of it the image doesn’t reveal anything groundbreaking. The iPad Air 2’s design seems to be similar to its predecessor, which adopted a lot of design cues from the iPad Mini.

The accompanying report claims that this image reveals the rear microphone will be moved from the center of the upper part to be placed alongside the image sensor. Volume control buttons may even be placed inside a cavity.

As far as the size is concerned it appears that this particular shell belongs to Apple’s next 9.7-inch tablet. A report from a reputable source yesterday claimed that the company is also preparing a 12.9-inch iPad which will presumably be released either by the end of 2014 by in the first quarter of next year.

Such leaks are a dime a dozen whenever new Apple products are on a horizon. Even if they do look like the real deal, they should always be taken with a grain of salt, since the company never comments on them so there’s no verification of claims made by sources.
