sony-xperia-compact-z3fccIt was slightly more than a couple of weeks ago that we brought you word on how the Sony Xperia Z3 has arrived at the FCC, and while that is not a promise that the smartphone will eventually hit the market, it is one step closer to reality. What about the smaller version of that particular model? It seems that the much rumored Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, too, will be in the pipeline, considering how it has already hit the FCC.

Having been spotted in the FCC’s database, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact does seem to arrive in a couple of variants, where they will be known as the PM-0810 and the PM-0812. While the two variants do look as though they are but the same handsets at first glance, there is a particular difference, and that lies in the list of supported LTE bands. For the Sony PM-0810, it will support LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 13, and 17, which points it to being an international model, while the PM-0812 will only support LTE bands 5 and 7 enabled, marking this out to be a decent candidate for a carrier-specific version.

Regardless, both models have been confirmed in the FCC filing to arrive with GSM/WCDMA/LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, ANT+ and NFC support.
