We have been noticing a trend recently. Retailers and carriers have been slashing prices of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. This doesn’t come as a surprise because we often see this happening whenever new iPhones are on the horizon. T-Mobile has now joined that list. It has reduced prices of unlocked iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C units sold through its website and retail stores.

The 16GB iPhone 5S previously cost $648 on T-Mobile, now it is available for $600. Similar reduction has been made in the 32GB and 64GB model prices, which are now being sold for $700 and $800 respectively. Since T-Mobile has shunned conventional contracts, these smartphones are sold off-contract.

Its not the high-end iPhone that gets all the love. T-Mobile has also reduced prices of iPhone 5C models. The 16GB model was previously sold for $550, it is now available for $500. The 32GB model gets a $48 price cut and is now available for $600.

The carrier has not confirmed whether this price cut is only valid for a certain time period or if its permanent. T-Mobile’s website calls it a “sale.” Its likely that this promotion has been run to reduce stock of Apple’s existing iPhones. The company is expected to introduce the iPhone 6 early next month. T-Mobile would certainly want to sell as many units of existing models as it can before rush for the new iPhone begins.
