t-mobile logo 2It was in April earlier this year when we brought you news that both companies have parted ways because of a U.S. licensing agreement, and not too long after that, T-Mobile offered their subscribers a $200 incentive in order to “upgrade” to a Samsung, although if you were to look at it from a neutral standpoint, it would be more of a change of hardware than an “upgrade”. Still, it seems that as many as up to 50,000 T-Mobile subscribers actually decided to switch to other smartphones from a BlackBerry since then, at least according to an internal memo.

One can only make the assumption that majority of these subscribers decided to pick up a Samsung smartphone along the way, simply because the deal would more or less prove all the more worth it. This particular $200 deal, compared to a $100 deal that allows you to choose another smartphone (which is not a BlackBerry nor a Samsung), will run until the end of this year.

In a nutshell, T-Mobile subscribers who are still rocking on to a BlackBerry device are a dying breed, and they will eventually go the way of the dodo. If you are a T-Mobile subscriber, which of the two options did you decide to settle for?
