T-Mobile subscribers have been wanting to know for quite some time now if and when Magenta would release the Android 4.4.4 update for Sony Xperia Z1s. The anxiousness to know the answer is evident by countless posts about the update that were made on the support section of T-Mobile’s website. Fortunately all of those people are getting their answer today. T-Mobile Xperia Z1s Android 4.4.4 update has started rolling out today, albeit gradually.

The first report of the update being pushed out came in this morning. T-Mobile is sending it out over-the-air as expected. Those who have not received a notification for the update up till now can go ahead and manually check for it through the settings menu.

Sony’s PC Companion software will work fine as well for folks who don’t seem to receive the update over-the-air. Stock firmware must be running on the device before installation as the update won’t play nice with rooted devices.

As previously mentioned since T-Mobile is pushing out the update over-the-air the process is normally done in stages. What this means is that the update won’t go live across all regions at once. Even if it doesn’t pop up in the PC software it may only take a few days before the update goes live for everyone.
