iphone-pondLet’s face it – losing a smartphone is never fun, but when you have dropped it down into a particular hole, at least retrieving it is a whole lot easier. However, when you happen to drop your iPhone into a pond, it would be akin to looking for a needle in a haystack. This is what happened to this 16-year-old who by accident, let his iPhone sleep with the fishes during a fishing trip with the rest of his mates. Using the ingenuity of a 16-year-old, he decided to use a powerful pump to suck out water from the pond, but his machinations failed when his efforts flooded a car park nearby instead.

Talk about taking a leap from the frying pan into the fire! Since the top brass over at the angling club did not allow him to use a diving suit so that he can perform a search for his iPhone, he decided to take matter into his own hands, which was what led to the car park flooding instead.

Two huge hoses were placed into the pond, where a powerful pump began to get to work and remove water from the pond and into the angling club toilet. Unfortunately, the toilet so happened to remain unattached to any sewage system as Murphy’s Law strikes – where all the excess water followed the path of least resistance into the club car park. Not only did he fail to recover his iPhone, the teenager has now been asked to fork out money to repair damages done to the toilet, in addition to the entire clean-up operation.
