When Microsoft released the Xbox One console late last year it thanked the entire team that worked on the console by giving them a special edition unit in white. That particular unit never made it to the market and customers had to make do with the black Xbox One. Sure enough some of the units ended up on eBay but that wasn’t enough to please everyone who wanted a white Xbox One at retail price. Lucky for them the company has confirmed that the white Xbox One release is going to take place later this year.

The console is in no way different from the Xbox One units available right now save for the fact that its a completely different color. Those who are interested in picking one up would have to purchase the Sunset Overdrive bundle. The while Xbox One will be sold as a bundle with this title when it finally comes out on October 28th. Microsoft hasn’t confirmed as yet if this console will be sold sans the bundle as well down the line.

The company is also yet to confirm exactly how much the Sunset Overdrive Xbox One bundle is going to cost. We’ll probably have that information by next month as the release nears. But this finally puts an end to all of the rumors about white Xbox One release we have been hearing for the past couple of weeks.
