free-corgiAs part of Blizzard’s efforts to celebrate the 10th anniversary of World of Warcraft, those who log in will be able to pick up a fire Corgi as their in-game pet – for free, of course. After all, what is the whole point of having a celebration if you’re not going to give out gifts to your “guests”, right?

Known as the Molten Corgi, this particular pet is not all there is to it, as it will be only a glimpse to what the folks over at Blizzard have up their sleeves as part of the World of Warcraft 10th anniversary celebrations that is set to happen later this November.

Other than having the Molten Corgi follow you around in-game, players who have already maxed out their respective characters will also be able to pick up a special Achievement and a Core Hound mount reward whenever they manage to subdue the Firelord in the 40-person Molten Core raid.

In addition, all players will also be able to take part in a rematch of the classic World of Warcraft Tarren Mill versus Southshore struggle, which so happens to be a PvP scenario that hails right from the early days of the game. Has it been 10 years already? Time surely flies like an arrow when you’re having fun, and it goes to show that Blizzard really isn’t too bothered about the declining number of subscribers on World of Warcraft. [Press Release]
