xiaomi-mi4-miui-v6It is not too long before Xiaomi of China rolls out the latest version of their MIUI 6, which is based on the Android platform, and needless to say, since this has nothing to do with the company from Cupertino, one can naturally expect a slew of new screenshots and leaks hit the Internet. We are not disappointed too, as GizChina has shared some leaked screenshots of the reworked interface.

The MIUI 6 has decided to drop the colorful look for a more contemporary feeling, and of course, it will also be a whole lot “flatter” than before, sporting larger sized icons and consistent colors to boot. This does look set to be a pleasant and tidy redesign, which means it will still make use of skeuomorphism from time to time in areas where it deems fit, including the radio app and the compass.

It is nice to see Xiaomi make strides in this department, and rolling out great hardware that does not cost a bomb is a step in the right direction, all that they need to do now is continue to build on the strength of the brand by churning out a better user interface experience, and the big boys will definitely have a rising contender on their hands that will make them peer over their shoulders nervously.
