acer-liquid-z500Acer has certainly been pretty busy this morning, where they have already unleashed a slew of announcements over at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany, in the form of the Acer Iconia One 8, Acer Iconia Tab 10 and Acer Iconia W8 tablets. Well, there is still one more device that managed to squeeze through, and that would be the Acer Liquid Z500 smartphone that is touted to be relatively affordable – compared to the other flagship and high end models, I suppose.

Acer claims that the Liquid Z500 will come with a “CD quality” music experience, so those of you who love to listen to your favorite tunes in high quality format might want to consider getting that headphones upgrade after mulling over it for some time. By “CD quality”, Acer is referring to support for 16-bit, 44KHz FLAC and WAV playback, where HD stereo speakers with DTS Studio Sound are also part of the deal.

Other hardware specifications of the Acer Liquid Z500 include a 5” IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and high contrast (900:1) ratio. At the back lies an 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. The entire Liquid Z500 measures 8.65mm thin and it will run on Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice. Expect the Acer Liquid Z500 to arrive in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia this September 15th with a recommended price tag of €149 ($195), where you can pick from Titanium Black, Aquamarine Green, and Sandy Silver shades.
