xperia-c-finalThere are times when a particular device would have reached the end of its product cycle, and then all updates for it would cease. When it comes to the previous generation of Sony smartphones such as the Xperia M, Xperia L and Xperia SP, all of them have not received any kind of official updates for the longest time. It looks like those handsets will be joined by another one, which is the Sony Xperia C, as we now know that the buck stops with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The Sony Xperia C, which arrives in two models – one with a single SIM tray, while the other is a dual SIM device, was launched with Android 4.2 in tow, and since then, it has been on the receiving end of just a couple of minor updates throughout the rest of its shelf life, which then saw the latest version as Android 4.2.2. The official page on the Sony website claims that this is the final release of Android for the handset, so officially, this means that all support is done and dusted with.

The Xperia C is touted to be a rather decent mid-range smartphone, so it can be quite a pity to see support for it stopping there. Well, I don’t suppose the support page would be getting much more love from now on.
