anki-starter-kit

Last year the Anki racing game was announced. The starter kit for this game contains a track and two toy cars that are backed by artificial intelligence so they don’t just go round and round the track, they actually have some pretty cool tricks up their sleeves. The companion app can be used to control the cars and use weapons against opponents on the track. Today it has been announced that the Anki Drive prices are being cut and that support for Android is coming in October.

The price cut has come in time for the holidays. Now the Anki Drive starter kit will be priced at $149.99 in the U.S. and Canada and £149.99 in the UK. Retailers will have the new pricing later this week while Anki.com is already selling the kit for the aforementioned prices. Expansion cars and tracks retain their previous $69.99 and $99.99 prices.

spektrix

A new car has been announced today as well. The Spektrix is a new addition to the Anki Drive expansion cars with mischief and sabotage being the key to its prowess. Spektrix is capable of emitting a signal which can scramble nearby opponents’ steering resulting in them losing control. The Chaos Pulse Scrambler upgrade causes opponents’ weapons to lose control and fire at their own will. Spektrix is available today from the company’s website for $69.99 and will be available from retailers in early October.

The exact date for the Anki Android support has not been announced as yet but support for select Samsung devices is on the cards for next month. Anki will update the list of compatible devices in the near future.
