intel-basis-peakEarlier this year, we managed to catch a glimpse of the Basis B1 wearable device that featured advanced sleep analysis – and it might seem to be a pretty difficult act to follow up. However, that is not quite the case, as here we are with the Basis Peak health watch that is a whole lot more aesthetically pleasing compared to its predecessor, it is also set to arrive later this November, carrying an asking price of $199 a pop.

Intel did pick up Basis earlier this year, as Intel used this opportunity to take a peek into the world of wearable devices. After all, it makes perfect sense, and imagine the kind of collaboration that Intel would end up with if they could come up with a chip worthy of a place in small and connected devices. Why not start off with your own hardware to get the ball rolling, right?

The Basis Peak might not be an Apple Watch or Moto 360, but it is still a whole lot better looking compared to its predecessor, where it now sports a metal case, a design that is far more svelte, and a touchscreen that will replace what physical buttons ought to do. There is also an improved optical sensor that does a better job at tracking your heart rate. Any takers?
