battlefield hardlineBack in 2013 when Battlefield 4 was released, it was met with a wave of criticism. It wasn’t that the game was bad, it was namely because of the numerous bugs that the developers neglected to iron out which made it difficult to play. In fact EA was hit with several lawsuits due to the buggy nature of the game.

Well back then EA promised that they had learnt their lesson with the Battlefield 4 fiasco and the good news is that they will be taking that lesson and applying it to the upcoming Battlefield: Hardline title. The game is the next title in the Battlefield franchise and it offers gamers a chance to play as the police, which is a nice change of pace compared to the more military theme in previous titles.

Speaking to Game Revolution, Visceral Games’ creative director Ian Milham promised that they will not be repeating Battlefield 4’s mistakes. According to Milham, “What you’re basically asking is, ‘Is your game going to work?’ and the answer is yes, it’s gonna work. We actually started on this more than a year before Battlefield 4 came out.”

Basically it seems that some of the technology used in Battlefield: Hardline was used in Battlefield 4, which means that the folks at Visceral Games has had time to further refine it and remove the kinks. “We already had one very successful beta, we’re going to have another beta on every platform we ship on. We take shipping a working game pretty seriously. So, yes, the game will work.”

However Milham notes that due to the fact that Hardline will be released across multiple platforms, there will bound to be issues, although hopefully it will not ruin the experience for gamers. Battlefield: Hardline has been pegged for a release on the 21st of October next month, so we guess we won’t have to wait too long to see how well it plays.
