android-l-lmp-bugA rose by any other name would smell just as sweet – and I suppose that the same can be said for a mobile operating system. What are some of the possible names that have been put forward where the Android L mobile operating system is concerned? Some say it points to Android Lion, while there is some other evidence that is in favor of a different moniker with the letter L at the beginning, where it simultaneously reveals some of the changes made to the Android L Material Design interface.

A recent Chrome bug report was spotted earlier on, although it has since been taken down, where we got to check out a Nexus 5 that was running on a certain developer build of Android L. In this code, it points to a very recent build, which hails from early this month, pointing in the direction of “Android LMP.” As to whether the “L” in there means lemon or lime, chances are “MP” could point to “meringue pie” as rumored earlier on.

Other than that, the Nexus 5 that ran this version of the software does pinpoint several differences from the current Android L preview. Take for instance, the Bluetooth setup screen that depicts new device icons, as well as the toggle control graphic that shows off a redesign. There has also been modifications made to the the status bar as it delivers a refresh in the signal strength indicators, among others.
