facebook-kittenWhen it comes to the social network known as Facebook, they do happen to have their fair share of users, and with that, you will also get a glimpse to how some of us humans think. Recently, there was a video uploaded to Facebook that showed a kitten being doused in petrol before it was set on fire. Needless to say, this is not one cat video that folks would like to see online, and it has raised the anger and ire of many a Facebook user since the video was not removed by Facebook after being reported on.

Is there a reason for this? Apparently, it was reported that such nasty footage continues to remain online for the simple fact that it does not breach any of its rules. That sounds absolutely crazy, don’t you think so? Still, there is a job that needs to be done, and that would include hunting down those who were behind this horrific footage. Some clues do point to it being filmed abroad, while one of the person’s face was shown in the clip itself, albeit for a short while.

In the Facebook video, it depicted a couple of men who pushed the kitten into a bucket before dousing it with petrol, setting it alight afterwards. The kitten escaped from the bucket and ran away while being burned, before rolling around in excruciating pain and distress before one of the men poured more fuel on it.

Apparently, Mail Online reported that a Facebook spokesperson claimed that the clip was deemed to have met its guidelines, saying, “People come to Facebook to share experiences of the world around them and on occasion this may result in the sharing of content that some may find upsetting. While we do not allow content that directly encourages violence, we try to create a safe environment that balances people’s desire to express themselves and in some cases condemn what they see.”

I personally think that this is so wrong on so many levels.
