final-fantasy-4

Fans of the popular Square Enix series Final Fantasy have been able to play many installments from this series on PC however some titles in the franchise have yet to make their way to the PC. However it looks like a Final Fantasy installment might soon be released for PC. Today Final Fantasy IV received a PEGI rating and it looks like this particular title might be making its way to the aforementioned platform later this month.

The Pan European Game Information, PEGI, has awarded a 12 rating to Final Fantasy 4. This is a European rating system that lets parents know easily if the game is suitable for their children. The system is quite similar to the Entertainment Software Ratings Board or ESRB in the U.S. The rating was first spotted on Twitter, 12 denotes “non realistic looking violence towards human characters” and “mild bad language.”

Final Fantasy 4 was originally titled as the Final Fantasy II in the U.S. on SNES. The title has been re-released multiple times over the past few years. For the Nintendo DS it was remade in 3D back in 2008. An enhanced 3D version was then released for mobile devices about two years back. It is possible that Final Fantasy 4 for PC will use that 3D engine.

September 17th, 2014 is the release date accompanying the PEGI rating. It is not known for sure if this is only limited to Europe as there’s no mention of a release date for North America.
