new-garmin-nuviGarmin is an old hand when it comes to GPS navigation devices, and the company is not going to throw in the towel for its bread and butter business just yet, ensuring that their latest 5”, 6”, and 7” multi-touch glass displays will feature premium Garmin navigation this time around. The 2014 Advanced Series carries the distinction of being the first nüvi range that will boast of Foursquare venues so that users can explore new and popular restaurants and stores, among others, whenever they are in unfamiliar territory.

Apart from that, there is also Direct Access, which so happens to be a brand new feature that would make it a whole lot more convenient to check out locations within complex destinations, and these would include (but are not limited to) malls and airports. Drivers too, would not miss out as the new batch of navigators will offer a slew of advanced navigation features that can only be found on Garmin’s products (or so Garmin claims), where they include Active Lane Guidance, Garmin Real Directions, photoReal and Bird’s Eye Junction View.

The 2014 Advanced Series will boast of extremely responsive glass displays, the ability to handle pinch to zoom, and select models will even arrive with voice-activated navigation and Bluetooth connectivity to handle hands-free calling. Depending on the model that you decide to pick up, the Garmin 2014 nüvi Advanced Series will retail from $199.99 to $349.99. [Press Release]
