Last week HTC sent out invites for an event in New York City that has been penciled in for October 8th. The invite really didn’t reveal much about what we can expect will be shown off at the event. Rumor has it that HTC’s “selfie phone” will be unveiled on October 8th and perhaps a rugged camera built along the lines of the GoPro. As far as the selfie phone is concerned, believed to be called HTC Eye, some of its specifications have leaked online.

These purported specifications have been posted online by Twitter account @upleaks. This account has taken up the leaks charge after the notorious @evleaks threw in the towel.

The HTC Eye is said to have a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p display with 423 pixels per inch. It will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU.

That’s all there is to know about the HTC Eye at this point in time. Perhaps @upleaks will have more specifications to leak before HTC’s event takes place next month. A rumor about this smartphone posted back in July claimed that the HTC Eye has been tested out by AT&T. There have been no reports to indicate if any other carrier will be offering it as well, but we’ll have to wait and see if it is indeed an AT&T exclusive.
