Hydroelectric-Tidal-HouseWhat you see above might be something that would belong more in the world and realm of science fiction than it would in the real world, but it looks like the latter is more likely. I am referring to the Hydroelectric Tidal House which is no ordinary home as you can tell by its looks alone. Far from it – this particular bad boy is cast in concrete, where the outer semi-circular shell will help the house to remain attached the shoreline with sand foundations.

There will be solar cells which will line the outer shell so that it will be able to maximize the location of this abode at Cape Town’s abundant sunshine, but that is not the primary source of power. It will, instead, rely on the more reliable renewable energy source from tidal waves. Yes sir, the shell has been specially designed using a porous structure which will pave the way for multiple channels of water to flood the space between the outer and inner shells.

There, an electromagnetic turbine system which relies on neodymium magnets and copper wire coils will help induce an electric current as the waves push and pull against the extruded chambers. Pretty interesting idea, don’t you think so?
