Windows-Phone-Store_3Given that app stores are operated in many countries, with each country having their own specific apps (after all what use is a US carrier app if you’re living in a different part of the world?), it means that companies have a lot of maintenance to do. However it seems that Microsoft has been accused of only focusing their efforts on the US Windows Phone Store and has neglected other stores in the process.

This comes from the folks at DrWindows.de who claims that Microsoft has neglected its other stores, like the Germany one. The website reports that they have been trying to get Microsoft to remove spam apps from the Windows Phone Store by PopularMobileApps. The apps are listed for free but apparently only have a “trial” period of five days, after which they will charge its users.

It will also spam the user with toast notifications about the developer’s other apps, which not only runs in the background but reportedly drains a fair bit of battery too. That being said, after many angry emails to Microsoft and speaking to officials, the apps were removed, but here’s the kicker – apparently they were only removed from the US Windows Phone Store, but they remained in Germany.

However it was only after a fuss was kicked up that they were finally removed too. We’re not sure if this is because Microsoft had to coordinate with the teams working on the other app stores, or if it is because they are truly focused on the US store, but what do you guys think? Any other international Windows Phone users feel that their app stores might be slightly neglected too?
